Within a common inspection activity, the inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) sampled foodstuff Drůbeží mortadella (poultry mortadella), meat product, thermally processed, lot No. 07083. The product in question was sold by company Kaufland Česká republika v.o.s, country of origin: Germany. The labelling of the foodstuff contained information that the content of meat represented 70% of the product. However, a wide-spectral analysis showed that the meat content was 57% only.

Labelling of the foodstuff was thus misleading as regards the content of meat. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
