During 14 months of its operation, the website “Food Pillory” has been visited by more than 2.27 M. visitors and became thus a significant communication path between consumers and the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA). During its operation, the web has been modified many times. The “improvements” were initiated in particular on demand and suggestions of its users.

The new section today introduced to the public -  “Thematic Inspections” is the latest modification of the website “Food Pillory”. Results of these inspections that are always focused on a particular group of foodstuffs contain all findings including the positive ones. Consumers can thus obtain more complex information and have better orientation when deciding during purchase of foodstuffs.

Besides innovation of the content of the websites, also application for “smart” phones and tablets was launched today. The application significantly improves user options of the portal. For example when using GPS localisation, information from the place where the consumer is presently situated will be available. Using the mobiles and tablets, consumers will have an option to submit a suggestion for inspection directly from the shop or send a picture taken by their mobile equipment. The application enables, inter alia, browsing of news and press releases published on the CAFIA websites. Access to the new section of the “Pillory” related to thematic inspections is a constituent of this application. Last but not least, also contact details of all Inspectorates of CAFIA are available, and direct link to the website “Food Pillory” adjusted to mobile phones are natural features of this application.

The application can be downloaded only for Android and Windows so far, however, in the course of few days, it will be available for iOS system as well.
