Food Inspection Authority warns consumers against soft drink containing moulds

The CAFIA warns consumers that soft drink which may contain moulds appeared on the market.

The product concerned is a multi-fruit beverage from a mixture of fruit and carrot concentrate called PF Bio Multi Gold, packaging of 0.2 l, manufactured by Hermann Pfanner Getränke Ges. m.b.H. from Austria. The product failed to meet sensory properties and CAFIA laboratory in Prague found moulds in it. The product bore a best before date of 25/05/2008.

Inspection carried out by the CAFIA was based on a suggestion from a consumer. Inspection was carried out also at the importer PFANNER Ltd. that was ordered to inform all its suppliers of the presence of moulds, and withdraw the product from the market. A total of 9504 units of 0.2 l were imported to the Czech Republic, of which 384 units were exported to Slovakia.

Consumers who bought this product containing moulds can claim it at the point of purchase.

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority sent notification on this product to the Brussels central office of the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).
