Food Inspection Authority ordered to withdraw supplement for sexual performance enhancement

01/18/2007

Withdrawal from the market of a food supplement called Libidfit Originál, use by date: April 2007, (information about the lot is missing) must be performed immediately by Olomouc company Big DREAM. The withdrawal was ordered by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA).

Big Dream imported this product to the Czech Republic saying that it should enhance potency. However, according to laboratory analysis performed by CAFIA laboratory, this food supplement contains a high content of acetildenafil which, due to its nature, have a negative impact on health.

The Olomouc company supplied some three thousand of Libidfit, use by date: April 2007, to three companies in Olomouc and Frýdek-Místek which offered this product to pharmacies and other customers, among others to sex shops and via Internet.

In the middle of last year, the Inspection Authority ordered to withdraw similar food supplement from the market, called SENSIMAXX Originál. This product was imported to the Czech Republic by SENSIMAXX Praha. The supplement contained acetildenafil too and it was distributed mainly by sex shops.

Acetildenafil is an analogy to sildenafil, however, unlike this parent substance and similar preparations (available upon prescription), acetildenafil failed to pass clinical tests and is not registered as an approved drug. Taking into account its nature, it can be assumed that it could have a negative impact on the health of cardiacs.
