The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) sampled pomelo in company Tesco Stores CR a. s. Subsequent laboratory analysis revealed presence of pesticide isocarbophos exceeding the permitted limit.

Fruit contained pesticide residue amounting 0.28 mg/kg, while the level laid down by legislation is 0.01 mg/kg. The pomelo originated from China, lot No: 3901. Company Fujian Pinghe Yumin Fruits&Vegetables CO., LTD, China was the producer.

Company TITBIT s.r.o., Pobřežní 16/18, Praha delivered 3,190 pieces of fruit into Tesco.

The inspected person was ordered to withdraw the lot in question from circulation and CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine.
