On 3rd November 2016 Director General of CAFIA, Martin Klanica met Director General of the General Directorate of the Customs Milan Poulíček to sign the updated Agreement on Mutual Co-operation of supervisory authorities which continues in the both-sided functional and time-proven praxis.
The aim of the Agreement is to ensure corresponding protection of interests of domestic consumers and apply suitable measures to foodstuffs which may pose a health risk. The Agreement is drafted in compliance with EU and national food legislation.
The current version of the Agreement follows-up to the version signed in 2014 and reflects amendments to legislation that came into force recently. It further regulates conditions for performance of joint inspection activities focused on current problematic areas of the market including possible joint inland inspections.
The co-operation of both supervisory authorities is carried out on a long- term basis and on high professional level. Signing the current version of the agreement will make present co-operation more stable.
