Deeply frozen chicken liver from Penny Market was contaminated with bile

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected a foodstuff unsuitable for human consumption in the retail network, namely FRANGOSUL – HLUBOCE ZMRAŽENÁ KUŘECÍ JÁTRA (deeply frozen chicken liver). The product was contaminated with a gall bladder, a part of bile tract and bile juices.

The liver was labelled by best before date by 17. 9. 2017, lot MN 079 216, Brazilian company JBS Aves Ltda-Matadouro de Avese Coelhos-Rua Buarque de Macedo, 3620, Montenegro was indicated as the producer, country of origin Brazil.

The product in question was offered by company Penny Market s.r.o. CAFIA ordered the inspected person to immediately withdraw the given lot from all its premises will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
