During current inspections carried out by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA), bans on using were imposed from the reason of inadmissible hygiene practices in public catering premises in Prague, Karlovy Vary and Brodek near Přerov. Namely, following premises are concerned:
Delicatessen Jan Paukert (inspected person: Jan Paukert lahůdkářství, s.r.o.), Národní třída 981/17, Prague 1. During the inspection of the premises producing delicatessen products and restaurant, the inspectors found extensive occurrence of mice excrements in the background in so-called warm and confectionary kitchen, namely on the floors and equipment. The insulation was also affected by mice gnaws. The background where the operator prepared meals was characterised by overall filth on the floors caused by neglected cleaning of grease and dust in a long term horizon. Furthermore, sinks were dirty and growing mould was present in the storage of fresh fruit and vegetables on the walls. The operator also failed to ensure protection of stored foodstuffs against the access of rodents. The introduced measures were not sufficient. CAFIA imposed a ban on the use of the premises on the spot.
Chinese fast food WOK (inspected person JI HONG s.r.o.) based on Bulharská 746/17, Karlovy Vary. During the inspection of the premises offering c. 70 sorts of meals, the inspectors found several violations of elementary hygiene regulations threatening the health of consumers – meat for preparation of meals was stored in a container unsuitable for foodstuffs under the sink, layers of filth and dust on the walls and floors of the premises caused by long-term neglecting of cleaning, unsuitable storing of foodstuffs, for example on the floor, damaged ceilings, etc. From the reasons mentioned above, CAFIA imposed a ban on the use of the premises until the deficiencies mentioned in the protocol are removed. CAFIA lifted the ban after a follow-up inspection that verified that when the imposed measures had been fulfilled .
Restaurant U nádraží (inspected person Ing. Roman Zbožínek), Brodek u Přerova. The inspection revealed serious violation of hygiene threatening health of consumers – for example storing of fresh meat together with processed foodstuffs in the corridor outside refrigerating equipment, mouldy storages, storing of foodstuffs in the boiler room and mice excrements on the shelf with foodstuffs. The premises were characterised by neglected condition and inadmissible practices during storing of foodstuffs. CAFIA imposed a ban on the use of the premises on the spot.
CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of fine with the inspected persons.
