The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) is warning consumers about non-compliant food:

Grill & Fun Honey and Herb Chicken Drumsticks, Marinated Chicken Drumsticks – Lower Legs, Meat Preparation, batch number: 337809754, use-by date: 15 August 2026, country of origin: Romania, veterinary identification mark: RO208 EC.

Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of the bacterium Salmonella in the specified batch of the food product. Salmonella is the causative agent of salmonellosis.

As the product in question has already passed its use-by date, it is no longer available on the market. However, CAFIA strongly recommends that all consumers who may have the product stored at home in a frozen state do not consume it. Freezing has practically no effect on bacterial contamination.

Inspectors collected a sample of the non-compliant batch at the premises of Lidl Česká republika s.r.o., Ellerova 1647, Strakonice 386 01.

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority has entered a notification into the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), so that further investigation can be carried out in the country of origin.

CAFIA will initiate administrative proceedings with the inspected party concerning the imposition of a fine.
