Consumer Warning: Salmonella Found in Imported Minced Pork Product

05/14/2026

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) is warning consumers about the following non-compliant food product:

PORK, MINCED MEAT PRODUCT WITH UP TO 20% FAT, meat preparation, product weight: 0.480 kg, use-by date: 17 April 2026, veterinary identification mark: PL 24770305 WE. In addition to the veterinary mark, the following information was also stated: code 187411, date 09 April 2026, and code L2.

Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of Salmonella Kapemba bacteria in the specified batch of the product. These bacteria are a cause of salmonellosis infection.

As the product has already passed its use-by date, it is no longer available on the market. However, CAFIA strongly recommends that any consumers who may still have the product stored frozen at home do not consume it. Freezing has virtually no effect on bacterial contamination.

Inspectors collected a sample of the non-compliant batch at the premises of Albert Česká republika, Nákladní 3201, 415 01 Teplice.

CAFIA submitted a notification about the unsafe food product to the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) so that the matter can be further investigated in the country of origin.

CAFIA will initiate administrative proceedings against the inspected operator regarding the imposition of a fine.
