Within continuous intensive inspections, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected unsafe foodstuff Vepřové mleté maso (Pork minced meat) 100% packaged à 500 g, lot: 211, use by date 04.08.2016, producer: Zaklady Miesne Henryk Kania S.A., Oddzial w Mokrsku, Mokrsko 343, 98-345 Mokrsko, country of origin: Poland. Laboratory analysis confirmed contamination of the product by Salmonella.

CAFIA sampled the lot in question in Lidl Česká republika v. o. s. With regard to the fact that the product was labelled with “use by 4^th August 2016”, it is not available in the retail network anymore. However, CAFIA strongly warns all consumers who could have the product at home in frozen state they do not eat it. Possible freezing has practically no impact on bacterial contamination.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person and will continue with intensive inspections in retail network.
