11/23/2021

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected non-compliant raisins on the market; they were packaged à 500 g, with best before date by 25/03/2022, producer ENCINGER SK s.r.o, Jadranská 13, 841 01 Bratislava, Slovakia, country of origin: Iran.

Laboratory analysis performed in an accredited laboratory confirmed presence of mineral oil amounting to 45.4 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg). However, this substance must not be present in foodstuffs pursuant to Regulation (EC) No. 1333/2008.

CAFIA inspectors sampled the food lot in retail of company Albert Česká Republika, s.r.o., Vídeňská 815/98a, 639 00 Brno. The inspected person was ordered to stop placing the non-compliant lot on the Czech market.

CAFIA recommends all consumers who have the food lot in question at home that they do not eat it.

CAFIA entered additional information into the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), which will enable further investigation of the case and taking measures in the country of the foodstuff’s producer.
