The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found an unsafe foodstuff in the retail network – canned strawberries slightly sweetened.
Cans placed on the market by company TOHIS spol. s.r.o. showed signs of spoiling and contained mould visible to the naked eye. The lots that failed to comply were assessed by inspector on the spot at the premises of company TOHIS spol. s r.o., Olštýnská 607/1, 18000 Prague.
The cans were provided with best before date by 31th December 2016 and following lots were concerned: 310314 STL17, 29032014 STL8, 310314 STL9, 28/4/2014 ST.LOT32 They were packaged à 410g and originated in Egypt.
According to the information on the labelling, the foodstuff in question was produced forimporter OTTO Franck import KG, D-86165 Augsburg, Germany. Subsequent B2B relations are further investigated.
CAFIA thus warns consumers to pay high attention to the given foodstuffs and not to eat them.
CAFIA ordered to withdraw the lots concerned from the market and will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine.
