CAFIA warns against frozen chicken product with salmonella

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) warns consumers against two lots of unsafe foodstuffs:

Qualiko CHICKEN WITHOUT DEFICIENTS, FROZEN, quality class A, best before date: 18.11.2023, producer: Branch "Pererobniy Compleks" Of Limited Liability Company "Vinnytska Ptahofabryka" 2B, Khlibozavodska st.,Ladyzhyn, Vinnyts'ka Oblast', 24320, Ukraine, country of origin: Ukraine. The inspectors took the sample at the premises: JIP East Bohemia, a.s., Nemanická 2180/3, 37010 České Budějovice.

Qualiko CHICKEN WITHOUT DEFICIENTS, Frozen, quality class A, best before date: 03.02.2024, producer: Branch 'Pererobniy Compleks' Of Limited Liability Company 'Vinnytska Ptahofabryka' 2B, Khlibozavodska st., Ladyzhyn, Vinnyts'ka Oblast', 24320, country of origin Ukraine. The inspectors took the sample at the premises: JIP East Bohemia, a.s., Harrachov 373, 512 46 Harrachov.

Laboratory analysis confirmed presence of bacteria of genus Salmonella Infantis, the causative agent of the disease salmonellosis in those lots of foodstuffs.

CAFIA inspectors ordered the operators to immediately withdraw the lots in question from the market. At the same time, CAFIA strongly recommends all consumers who may have the lots in question at home they do not eat them.

CAFIA has also entered a notification into the European Rapid Alert System for Food (RASFF) about detection of these non-compliant foodstuffs.

The foodstuff was sampled as part of a planned microbiological inspection.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure with the inspected person to impose a fine.
