CAFIA warns against consumption of raisins from Iran

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority detected presence of unauthorised substance in raisins Dried Raisins LTC packaged à 200 g with best before date by 24th February 2015, lot L1401101/2S, country of origin Iran. The foodstuff in question contained mineral oil which is not a food substance, and cannot be thus contained in a food product.
The amount of the used unauthorised oil was 567mg/kg and the producer thus violated Regulation No. 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and Council on food additives. In case that consumers have the lot in question at home, CAFIA definitely does not recommend its consumption. CAFIA ordered to withdraw the lot concerned from the market.
The lot was marketed in Globus, ČR, k.s., Sárská 5/133, Prague 5, 155 21.
This case was also notified into the RASFF system.
