Co-operating with the Custom Authorities for the Central-Bohemian Region, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) did not release following consignment of unsafe foodstuffs on the market: Dried figs (Turkish figs with rice flour) originating in Turkey.
Laboratory analysis confirmed that the consignment of total weight of 4,235 kg contained unsafe aflatoxin B1 amounting to 18.49 μg/kg while the permitted limit was 6.0 μg/kg.
Company K. F. C. Gida Tekstil Sanayi Ithalat Ihracat Yatirim A.S., Canakkale Youlu, 3. Km. Menemen – Izmir – Turkey was the producer and exporter of the product.
Based on the laboratory results, the consignment in question was not released for free circulation and the foodstuff thus did not enter the Czech market.
