The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) received yesterday in night hours information on the risk of botulin present in following lot:

Cizrnová rostlinná pomazánka (Chickpea plant spread), brand Lunter, packaged à 100 g, best before date: 21/08/2015. The information was received via the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).

Botulin is one of the most effective natural poisons and therefore the foodstuff concerned is unsafe and harmful.

According to the notification, the lot in question was sent to the CR by company ALFA BIO s.r.o., Kremnická 71, 974 05 Banská Bystrica. The lot was received by Czech companies KALMA a.s., Ostravská 256, Sviadnov and KIVET s.r.o., Pobřežní 249/46, Prague.

CAFIA inspectors currently verify distribution channels and presence of the unsafe foodstuff at the given entrepreneurs. According the notification sent by the Slovak supervisory authority, one person was poisoned.

CAFIA strongly warns all consumers they do not eat the given lot in any case.
