CAFIA revealed another case of consumers’ misleading regarding beef origin

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected another case of consumers’ misleading regarding actual origin of beef.

This time inspectors found out that consumers were misled at the premises of hotel Holiday Inn operated by Kongresové centrum Praha, a. s., Na Pankráci 1684/15, Prague.

The menu included meal Beef steak of Australian sirloin with aubergine puree and roasted vegetables, however, submitted documentation showed that the inspected person misled consumers using raw material originating in the Czech Republic.

The operator put the menu right on the spot providing correct bilingual information on the origin of the raw material.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine and will continue with intensive inspections of this assortment.
