The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found misleadingly labelled foodstuff in dm drogerie. Foodstuff WATER&EASY – flavoured beverage with vitamins and plant extracts, content 500 ml, produced by Ackermanns Haus, Sonnenblick 4, 08236 Ellefeld with best before date by 30th July 2015. The producer indicated on the labelling, inter alia, that “nutrition value per 100 ml: vitamin C 12 mg and B6 0.2 mg”. However, CAFIA laboratory analysis confirmed content of vitamin C lower than 0.1 mg per 100 ml and content of vitamin B6 lower than 0.01 mg per 100 ml. The labelling of the beverage thus misled consumers. CAFIA ordered the seller to immediately withdraw the product from its network. Further investigation revealed that the non-compliant lot contained 4,608 pieces. CAFIA will initiate and administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the seller.
