CAFIA launches new websites

07/01/2015

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) launched today a brand new version of its websites on www.szpi.gov.cz. The new look provides consumers, entrepreneurs and other target groups with better arranged information as well as functional and visual connection with the Food Pillory where CAFIA has been releasing information on unsafe, adulterated and poor quality foodstuffs since 2012, and since 2015 also information on the premises that were closed down.

The updated websites roof the complex CAFIA information systems providing visitors with broad information starting from authority activities to non-compliant foodstuffs and premises, Food Pillory application for mobiles and tablets or particular form of communication on social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter.

By visual and graphic connection of these electronic communication tools, CAFIA creates a unique complex system of information which is provided to various target groups and available from one source that could be easily identified.

Apart from the information mentioned, CAFIA also provides a range of useful services for entrepreneurs in food industry as well as for consumers. The entrepreneurs can find here, inter alia, the on-line form for notification of foodstuffs subject to Decree No. 320/2014 Coll., which is available on the main page, further section focused on production, import and labelling of wine, information on procedures and statements describing CAFIA approaches to inspection of single commodities and providing current information for food business operators. Consumers find a range of recommendations for orientation during purchasing foodstuffs or a list of suspicious websites, etc. The information is divided according to the most desired commodities.

The updated websites also enable the users to send a suggestion for inspection as well as questions or comments directly on the spot. So-called newsletter could also be sent to a given e-mail address. Readers can share single articles on social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

CAFIA launched its websites for the public as one of the first bodies of public administration already in 1992 and after a large update in 2002 the pages obtained a modern form similar to the current structure.
