During its inspections carried out between 8th April and 27th April 2015, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) imposed ban on the use of 13 premises due to unacceptable hygiene practices. This ban applies to the whole premises or its parts. Following premises are concerned:
Bakeries Peklas (inspected person Peklas spol. s r.o.), Buš 16 (Central-Bohemian Region). At the premises, which were not registered at CAFIA, the inspectors detected serious violation of legislation, in particular occurrence of living mice and their excrements and also insects. The premises were not ensured against access of pests and generally they were in neglected conditions. There were moulds on the walls which were also damaged. The same situation was with the ceiling. The production equipment was dirty and waste was cumulated at the premises. Breeding of little ducks directly at the premises was a real oddity.
Production of
Confectionary and delicatessen products (inspected person: Ivana Jechová), Lípová 185, Kamenický Šenov. The non-registered production was carried out in a family house occupied by other members of the family. The premises lacked appropriate spaces and conditions for performing the good hygiene practice including protection against contamination during production of confectionary and delicatessen products. Gambling room and bar Venuše (inspected person: Tsunami bary s. r. o.), Koněvova 110/1685, Prague. The operator failed to ensure warm water for hygienic cleaning of glasses and washing hands of the staff. Overall, all areas of the premises were covered by layers of dust, dry filth and were in disorder. The inspectors further found out that the inspected person stored spirit drinks and items irrelevant to the business at the toilets. Empty beer barrels and drink bottles were stored under the benches at the area of the gambling room. Further deficiencies were found as regards labelling of foodstuffs; foodstuffs with expired use by dates and best before dates were found as well.
Restaurant U Chcípáka (inspected person: Lavanderia s.r.o.), Sokolovská 274/142, Prague. The inspectors found rodents’ excrements and further signs of long-term neglected cleaning. Damaged walls were at the producing and other areas of the premises, the operator kept the kitchen equipment dirty and impurities on the production equipment, shelves and on the floor as well. Waste was cumulated at the premises which were also used for storing of items with possible negative impact on food safety.
Food retail Zapon (inspected person: Jaroslav Zapletal), Mladějov na Moravě 114. The inspectors found out occurrence of mice excrements, mouldy cooling equipment and cumulated waste. In general, the premises were very neglected with heavy filth in all parts, namely dust, cobwebs and a large amount of filth on the floors, and spots with difficult access with rubbish.
Food retail (inspected person: Hoang Nam Nguyen), Masarykova 6, Třebívlice. At the premises, there was no warm water supply, the place for washing of equipment was created in the area of sanitary facilities – WC and bathroom. WC was separated only with a screen. Bottled water was stored in this area as well. The operator used only one sink for washing equipment for sale of unpacked foodstuffs and for washing hands after the use of WC.
Restaurant Hradební (inspected person: Vladimír Sedláček), Hradební 85/1, Prostějov. The inspectors found out neglected cleaning; impurities were present in all areas including equipment, shelves, floors, and walls which were damaged in addition to that.
Club Vřesiná (inspected person: Club Vřesiná), Zámečnická 31/1970, Plzeň. The inspectors found generally unacceptable hygiene practices including hygiene conditions on the toilets for visitors, significantly neglected cleaning of all premises, and mouldy and damaged walls in the storage where the operator stored beer kegs on tap. With regard to the active resistance offered by the operator, also the Police of the CR was called to closing of these premises.
Production of cakes (inspected person: Ondřej Kuchař), Zahradní 146, Mimoň. The premies were not registered at CAFIA, production of cakes was carried out on the second floor of a family house, which is the permanent residence of the operator. The premises for production were not separated from the household. The premises lacked sufficient space for performing good hygiene practice including contamination during confectionary production.
Staročeská vývařovna (inspected person: EXCALIBUR s. r. o.), Brodecká 61, Dolní Bousov. The inspectors found a large occurrence of moulds, in particular in cooling equipment, on the walls and ceilings which were in overall technically unsatisfactory condition. The operator failed to ensure warm water supply to the sink for washing hands.
Food retail – Večerka (inspected person: Bat Dung Le), Mariánské náměstí 283/14, Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav. The inspectors found occurrence of mice excrements in the storage and mould on the walls and ceiling of the cooling box. The conditions of the storage were in general unsatisfactory and the foodstuffs were not stored improperly.
Food retail (inspected person: Luyen Nguyen Thi), Hlavní 1341, Smržovka. The storage in the cellar room was heavily mouldy on the walls and the overall conditions of the storage were in contradiction with elementary requirements for safe placing foodstuffs into circulation.
Fast food Bylinka (inspected person: Lenka Neugebauerová), Komenského 63, Rychnov nad Kněžnou. The inspectors found missing supply of warm water for hygienic washing working equipment and washing hands. The premises were also neglected as regards cleaning, namely impurities on equipment, shelves and walls, and heavily contaminated cooling equipment were concerned.
When unacceptable hygiene conditions at the food premises are found, CAFIA imposes a ban on the use of the premises on the spot. At the same time, the operator is ordered to remedy the detected defective conditions. If the operator fulfils the measures, CAFIA lifts the ban upon a follow-up inspection. In case of serious violation of legislation in the area of hygiene, CAFIA initiates an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine.
