The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) informs consumers of detection of two pâtés unsafe for persons allergic to soya. The products in question contain soya protein, however, the producer failed to include this allergen in the composition of the products. Namely, following batches are concerned:

BEST Paštika s kuřecím masem (pâté with poultry meat) packaged à 50 g, best before date by 8. 8. 2014, importer and distributor: Laska Dalboss spol. s r. o., Wichterlova 2372/10, Prague, producer: Zaklady Miesne Werblinski SP z o. o., Debnialky Kaliskie 22, Kalisz, Poland.

BEST Paštika s kachním masem na víně (pâté with duck meat and wine) packaged à 120 g, best before date by 4. 11. 2013, importer and distributor: Laska Dalboss spol. s r. o., Wichterlova 2372/10, Prague, producer indicated in the accompanying documentation: Wielkopolskie Zaklady Miesne „AGRICO“, Spolka z ograniczona odpowiedzialnoscia Zaklad Pracy Chronionej Pawlowek 36, Poland.

Laboratory analysis showed that these products contained soya protein amounting to 0.61% and 1.06%. With respect to the fact that the allergen was not indicated on the labelling and the foodstuffs are thus unsafe for persons suffering from allergy to soya, the Inspection Authority ordered to withdraw the unsatisfactory lots from retail network. The foodstuffs in question were marketed by company Kaufland Česká republika v. o. s. CAFIA also entered related notification into the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).

CAFIA further detected unsound foodstuff Vitaie d’Oro, Drůběží paštika (poultry pâté) packaged à 130 g with best before date by 12. 9. 2014 sold by Kaufland Czech Republic v. o. s., country of origin: Poland. Product failed as regards the content of meat and fat. The producer states on the labelling: Content of poultry meat is not lower than 50% and fat no lower than 35%. Laboratory analysis showed that the lot concerned contained 33.5% of meat 16.3% of fat. The foodstuff is labelled with misleading information and the Inspection Authority therefore banned putting the lot in question into circulation. The sample was taken at premises of ANH BUI THI, Karlická 38/11, Prague 5. Company Kaufland Česká republika v. o. s. is the distributor and seller in the CR.

Administrative procedure on imposition of a fine will be initiated with the inspected persons.
