CAFIA found pork sausages containing soya that was not indicated on the labelling

09/16/2014

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found non-compliant foodstuff “Extra Vepřové párky s příchutí telecici” (pork sausages with veal flavour) packaged à 1.996 g produced by PHZ JUR-Gast Sp. Z. o. o. 43-260 Wisla, Przemyslowa street 2, Poland. Laboratory analysis showed presence of soya amounting to 5.061mg/kg. With regard to the fact that information on soya was missing on the labelling, this foodstuff may pose threat to people suffering from allergy to soya. The detected amount significantly exceeds the concentration that could be regarded as unintentional technological failure during production.
CAFIA sampled the unsafe foodstuff in premises of company BEA-BEDNART, s.r.o. Řeka street 150 73955 Řeka in the Moravian-Silesian Region. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the operator.
