CAFIA found mozzarella Zott failing to comply with fat and dry matter content

During a common inspection at the premises of BILLA company, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) sampled cheese Zott – Zottarella, mozzarella Light 8.5% of fat, soft cheese in salt pickle, producer: Zott SE&Co.KG, D86690, Mertingen, Germany. The producer indicated on the labelling: fat 8.5% and dry matter at least 30%. However, results of the laboratory analysis proved that the fat amounts to 7.92% only and dry matter to 27.44% only and consumers thus were misled.

With regard to the use by date 5th April 2016, the product in question is not on the market anymore. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
