During current inspections, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) took samples of meat products with missing or adulterated part of meat content compared to the information provided on the labelling. Presence of water was detected that was not indicated on the labelling or the type of meat was interchanged. Following foodstuffs distributed by various retails are concerned:
Werblinski – tin with turkey meat packaged à 110g with best before date by 10th August 2017, producer: Zaklady Miesne Werblinski Sp. z o.o. Debnialki Kaliskie 22, 62-800 Kalisz, Poland. The producer indicated on the labelling that the meat content was 59%, however, the laboratory analysis revealed that the tin contained only 46.7% of meat, and the information on the labelling was thus misleading. The non-compliant lot was found in Kaufland.
KUŘECÍ PRSNÍ ŘÍZEK bez kosti a kůže (chicken filet without bone and skin), deeply frozen, packaged à 0.5 kg with best before date by 9th March 2017, lot 20150309 and by 13th April 2017, lot 20160413, producer: IRSAHÚS Kft. ALBERTIRSA HOMOKRÉSZ II, country of origin: Hungary. The producer failed to indicate the information on the presence of added water and the consumer thus might have regarded the product in question as pure muscle. However, the laboratory analysis comparing the proportion of proteins and water proved presence of water exceeding natural values of water in muscles. The producer thus misled consumers. The product was found in retails of company AHOLD Czech Republic, a.s.
PIKOK Chalupářské vepřové maso (pork meat), packaged à 300g with best before date by 2nd March 2018, lot L2852, producer: PAMAPOL S.A., ul. Wieluńska 2, 97-438 Rusiec, Poland. The producer indicated on the labelling that the meat content was 89%, however, the laboratory analysis revealed that the tin contained only 77.1% of meat, and the producer thus mislead consumers as regards the real content of meat. The foodstuff in question was sold by company LIDL Česká republika v.o.s.
BEST-Šunková Delikatesa KRŮTÍ (turkey meat product), packaged à 120g, with best before date by 16th February 2019, importer: LASKA Dalboss, spol. s r.o., Wichterlova 10, 182 00 PRAGUE 8, Czech Republic, country of origin: Poland. The producer indicated on the labelling that the product contained solely turkey meat, however, the laboratory analysis confirmed presence of non-declared por meat too, and the information on the labelling was thus misleading as regards the content of the used meat. CAFIA took the sample at the premises of Hoan Nguyen Van, 168, 79812 Vrbátky, who purchased it, according to the accompanying documentation, in Kaufland Česká republika v.o.s.
