During an inspection of Internet sale, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected following non-compliant foodstuff: 7Days – natural food supplement, Slim Capsules, packaged à 36 capsules, lot: Lot No 202021109, best before date by: 08/11/2023, country of origin: Hong Kong.

Laboratory analysis of the foodstuff confirmed presence of pharmacologically effective substances phenolphthalein amounting to 6,093 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) and sibutramine amounting to 15.9 mg per one capsule. Legislation does not allow presence of pharmacologically effective substances in foodstuffs. The food supplement was thus assessed as a foodstuff harmful for health pursuant to Regulation (EC) No. 178/2003. The above-mentioned substances may cause serious health complications in particular of cardiovascular character.

The inspectors took the non-compliant sample on e-shop www.popularstore.eu. Company Best Addition s.r.o., Opálkova 754/8, 635 00 Brno is the operator of the e-shop. Company Cong Hung Dinh, Merhautova 960/84, 613 00, Brno was then the supplier of the foodstuff concerned.

CAFIA imposed ban on placing of the foodstuff on the market to the operator of the e-shop in question and will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with both companies.

CAFIA strongly recommends all consumers who may have the given food lot at home that they do not eat it.
