Inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found non-compliant food supplement “Chondroitin Sulphate – food supplement, Natural Nutrition, 100g, best before date by 13. 09. 2020.” The product was offered on www.namaximum.cz.

Laboratory analysis confirmed that the foodstuff contained 68.428 mg/1000 mg of chondroitin sulphate only compared to 900 mg/1000 mg stated on the labelling. Indicating untrue information on the labelling, the inspected person thus misled consumers.

CAFIA carried out the inspection at company Green Medical s.r.o., Rybná 716/24, 110 00 Prague 1, the Czech Republic, and ordered the company to relabel the lot in question and until the measure is taken, the foodstuff of the given lot must not be placed on the market. The inspected person informed CAFIA that the sale of the foodstuff concerned was stopped and consumers were informed of the detection including the option to return the goods.

Company Summit Nutritionals International, Inc., USA was the producer of the food supplement in question.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
