The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) entered information on detection of an unsafe foodstuff into the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed. Green tea from Wuyi Rock is the foodstuff concerned. A laboratory analysis showed pesticide residues dimethoate and fipronil exceeding the permitted limits in the lot in question. The lot contained 0.26 mg/kg of dimethodate, whereas its permitted limit is 0.05 mg/kg, and 0.04 mg/kg of fipronil, whereas its permitted limit is 0.005 mg/kg.
CAFIA detected the good within inspection of foodstuffs imported from countries outside the EU at the premises of Prague – Ruzyně Airport. Based on the fact mentioned above, CAFIA launched a process, within which the consignment would not be released into the EU internal market and foodstuffs thus could not pose a risk to consumers. The size of the non-complying lot is 22 kg and the accompanying documents stated that company Mr. Dao, s.r.o. Astlova 3205/3, 150 00 Prague was the importer and company Royalink Investment Limited, Unit 702, 18 Bonham Strand West, Hong Kong was then the foreign partner of the importer.
