The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found deficient lot of non-alcoholic beverage sold under name Ice tea s příchutí Citron (ice tea with lemon flavour), still non-alcoholised beverage with tea and lemon flavour, volume: 0.5 l, lot: L274, best before date by: 30^th March 2017, producer: NELI, a.s., Na Hraničkách 589/34, 682 01 Vyškov.

The beverage concerned failed in quality requirement for appearance and aroma – so-called lump and unnatural chemical odour was found out. Subsequent laboratory analysis proved presence of 1,3 pentadiene, which is a result of decay.

Based on the given facts, the foodstuff was assessed as unsuitable for human consumption. CAFIA strongly warns all consumers who have the lot in question at home that they do not eat it. CAFIA sampled the foodstuff in network of company Ahold Czech Republic, a.s.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
