The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) ordered company Orient Bohemia s.r.o., Na Sezníku 309/4, Olomouc to immediately withdraw foodstuff Rozinky Malayer (raisins) from retail network. Following lot with best before date by: 12/2021 is concerned: 10 kg and 1 kg, country of origin: Iran.
Laboratory analysis confirmed presence of mineral (petroleum) oils (C18 – C42 fractions) amounting to 173 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), however, relevant legislation does not allow any detectable amount of mineral oils. CAFIA inspectors therefore banned placing of the non-released part of the non-compliant lot on the market and also ordered to immediately withdraw the lot already on the market from all purchasers. CAFIA investigation of further stages of the supply chain is in progress.
Inspectors took the sample in warehouse of company Orient Bohemia s. r. o., the total size of the non-compliant lot amounted to 21 tons. According to the accompanying documentation, entity Mr. Amin Mearaji Far, TABRIZ – Iran was the supplier from the country of origin.
CAFIA entered information of the detection into the European Rapid Alert System RASFF.
CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
