The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) ordered immediate withdrawal of 2 non-compliant foodstuffs from retail network. Compared to the information on the labelling, the content of allergenic substances present in the following foodstuffs was exceeded by some powers of ten:
PRESTIGE HYPER CLASSIC - Oplatka máčená "HYPER" Classic (wafer), best before date: 21/12/2020 lot: L19 004 306, producer: Prestige 96, a.s., ul. Dalga Laka 6, Veliko Tarnovo, 5000, Bulgaria. The producer stated, inter alia, on the labelling: “Contains traces of peanuts.” With regard to the laboratory result confirming presence of peanuts in amount of 5,843 mg/kg and to the maximum amount acceptable as trace amount set as 25 mg/kg, the foodstuff is unsafe for persons with allergy or intolerance to the mentioned allergen.
CAFIA inspectors took the sample at the premises of NORMA, k.s., and ordered the operator to withdraw the lot in question from all its branches. According to the submitted documents, the non-compliant lot contained 9,750 packages.
CHOCOLATE IRISH CREAM LIQUEUR alc.15% vol., lot: L19 004 306, producer: Terra Limited, Institute Road, Bailieboro, Co. Cavan, Ireland. The producer stated, inter alia, on the labelling: “Contains traces of milk.” With regard to the laboratory result confirming presence of milk protein in amount of 21,699 mg/kg and to the maximum amount acceptable as trace amount set as 25 mg/kg, the foodstuff is unsafe for persons with allergy or intolerance to the mentioned allergen.
CAFIA inspectors took the sample at the premises of Lidl Česká republika v.o.s., and ordered the operator to withdraw the lot in question from all its branches. According to the submitted documents, the non-compliant lot contained 29,376 bottles.
CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected persons.
CAFIA recommends all consumers who may have the lots its questions at home and suffer from the allergy or intolerance to the given ingredients that they do not eat them.
