07/08/2015

Also in summer months, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) continues to check operators running food and catering businesses. Due to serious violation of hygiene regulations CAFIA have had to close down already 131 premises in the course of this year. Apart from hygiene, CAFIA also pays attention to adulteration of meals – for more details, go to the press release of 2nd July 2015. Below you can find summary of currently closed premises:

Hospůdka Kocábka (inspected person: Michaela Beranová), Nýřanská 28, 323 01, Plzeň. CAFIA inspectors had to impose a ban on the use of the kitchen because of severalfold violation of hygiene regulations, inter alia, neglected cleaning, dirty kitchen equipment as well as shelves, walls and floors.

Restaurace Na Růžku (inspected person: Skathi s.r.o.), Řídícího učitele Havla 62, 46343 Český Dub. CAFIA closed the area of the storage where foodstuffs and barrels with beer were stored under unsatisfactory conditions; there were also filthy ceiling, walls and floor as well as mud and increased humidity.

CLUB 333 (inspected person: V. I. V. DC s.r.o.), Na Pěšině 333, 40505 Děčín. CAFIA imposed a ban on the use of the area where frozen semi bakery products were finished – pizzas and baguettes. Kitchen equipment was contaminated with dry scraps, plaster was flaking and the room was generally unsuitable for preparation of meals; it was not possible to prevent contamination of food from the outside.

Restaurant Estrella (inspected person: Jan Lobreis), Opatovická 159/17, 11000 Praha. CAFIA closed the storage of the premises due to mould; ceilings, walls and floor were dirty and the operator failed to protect the area against the access of pests and contamination. Also storing of few sorts of foodstuffs failed to comply with good hygiene practice.

Restaurant ASIA-IMBIS (inspected person: Chinh Phan Van) Horní Folmava, 345 32 Česká Kubice. During the inspection, CAFIA closed the kitchen and storage of foodstuffs. Inspectors found mice excrements and the area was not protected against access of pests. Also kitchen equipment, shelves, walls, ceiling and floor were heavily contaminated. Storing of non-food items posing a risk of contamination was another violation.

Food retail – Javor (inspected person: Ha nguyen Thi Bich), Tuřanka 1220/2, 627 00 Brno – Slatina. CAFIA closed the whole premises following the detection that KEG barrels with wine are stored in the ante-room of the toilet and at the toilet as well and there is no warm water supply available. The operator also failed to ensure regular waste disposal.

CHIP Bistro (inspected person: Quoc Chinh Luong), Smetanova 57, 57201 Polička. The premises were closed after inspectors found presence of mice excrements and moulds in the premises as well as on cooling equipment, and impurities on the ceiling, walls and floors.

Chinese restaurant Xin Tian Hao Jiu Jia (inspected person: Zhong Hua Xiao Dang Jia s.r.o.), Evropská 689/148, Praha. Inspectors closed the premises on the spot due to poor hygiene conditions on the toilets, presence of moulds, generally neglected cleaning, and, among others, accumulation of waste, filth on equipment, shelves, floors and walls.

When inadmissible hygiene conditions are detected in food premises, CAFIA imposes a ban on the use of the premises on the spot and orders the operator to remedy the detected deficiencies. If the operator fulfils the measures, CAFIA lifts the ban upon a follow-up inspection. In case of serious violation of food hygiene legislation, CAFIA initiates an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine. The overview of premises where the ban on the use was imposed is regularly released in the new section titled Premises on the Food Pillory website. In addition to detailed information of inspection detections, also photo documentation is available here.
