04/08/2016

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) in co-operation with the Police of the CR revealed an illegal operator producing tofu. Inspected person Bich Thuy Nguyen operated its premises on street K Hrnčířům 43, 149 00 Prague, where CAFIA inspectors detected unacceptable hygiene conditions, which failed to ensure safety during food production. The ceiling, walls as well as floors were in dilapidated conditions. The inspectors found mould at the whole premises and also presence of mice excrements. The premises were not ensured against the access of pests.

The investigation showed that the operator offered the tofu produced here on the market hall SAPA. The inspectors imposed the ban on the use of the premises on the spot and they also banned further processing and placing soya beans on the market in total amount of 1,650 kg. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the operator.
