CAFIA closed down Albert in Plzeň

08/05/2014

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) imposed ban on using of the premises of company AHOLD Czech Republic, a. s. on Gerská street in Plzeň due to serious violence of hygiene rules detected during the inspection that was carried out today. CAFIA therefore ordered to close the premises down. The ban shall apply until the detected deficiencies are removed that will be verified within a follow-up inspection.
CAFIA found live adult mice as well as mouse droppings in the background of the premises and on the loading platform where foodstuffs are taken over. Neglecting of hygiene rules was also obvious in the selling area and the background of the premises.
CAFIA ordered the operator to carry out thorough rodent extermination as well as sanitation and to remove further violations of applicable legislation. CAFIA will initiate administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the seller.
