During the inspections carried out on 3rd February 2015, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) closed down three premises of public catering – bar in Stod near Plzeň and fast foods in Prague and Jeseník. The reasons were unacceptable hygiene conditions. The ban concerns following premises:
Asian bistro (inspected person Phuong Thanh Dang) based on Lipovská No. 1054/5 in Jeseník. The inspectors revealed that in the fast food, where warm meals were prepared, elementary hygiene requirements were not kept, CAFIA found out inter alia, occurrence of dead and living pests - German cockroach – in the area where meat was prepared, in the storage as well as in the main part of the production of warm meals. The condition of floors and walls did not allow proper cleaning. The filth in the whole premises was present as a result of a long-term neglect of cleaning, e.g. rests of raw materials and meals on the floors and layers of dried oily filth in the wiring and air conditioning allowing occurrence of pests.
Chinese restaurant and bistro Li de (inspected person YE LI JU s.r.o.) based on Bozděchova street No. 637/9 in Prague 5. CAFIA found out in the fast food offering c. 90 sorts of meals that raw materials were stored in heavily contaminated packaging. Stoves, cooker hoods and walls were heavily contaminated by layers of oily filth. The operator further failed to keep the storages clean and there was no warm water in the kitchen available.
Amusement arcade – bar (inspected person Hiep Nguyen Van) on Náměstí ČSA 617 in Stod near Plzeň. In the bar, there was neither warm nor cold water available in the time of the inspection. Elementary hygiene conditions could not be thus ensured in the premises to wash used glass and other dishes.
CAFIA ordered the given operators to remove the deficiencies and will initiate and administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with them. CAFIA will lift the ban only after the imposed measures are met which will be verified by a follow-up inspection.
