CAFIA banned Guseppe from selling 9 990 pieces of pizza

07/19/2007

Company Guseppe whose production plant is in Rokytnice v Orlických horách must not put on the market 9 990 pieces of pizza called Guseppe Pizzeria Funghi. The pizza had a best before date of 23 April 2008 and 5 June 2008. For now, it therefore remains in the company’s logistic centre in Dašice.

This is due to the fact that inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) revealed that pizza of the above lots was contaminated with insect larvae. These were in stems of mushrooms which are one of the ingredients of this foodstuff.

Another 11 934 pieces of Guseppe Pizzeria Funghi with best before dates of 26 February 2008, 23 April 2008 and 5 June 2008 were made and delivered to sellers who, based on the CAFIA’s decision, had to withdraw them from sale.
Part of them has recently been sold to consumers.

Guseppe made three lots of pizza with mushrooms this year. Mushrooms were taken from suppliers in France and Poland.
