Banned anabolic steroids proven in Creatine Pyruvate supplement

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) proved by repeated analysis the presence of two banned anabolic steroids in supplement for sportsmen Creatine Pyruvate, produced by Aminostar s.r.o., Turnov. In a 78 g package, production lot: EXP: 20.07.2007, CAFIA laboratory in Prague, and then the Doping Control Laboratory of Ghent University, Belgium, proved the content of banned substances 19-norandrostenedione and androstenedione. These substances belong to the group of banned anabolic steroids.

Moreover, untrue information about zero protein content and zero energy value was displayed on the packaging. In fact, the product contains 68.5g/100g proteins and has 1216kj/100g.

The Food Inspection Authority ordered to immediately withdraw the product from the market. Administrative proceedings will be instituted against Aminostar. The company was informed about the results of laboratory analysis on 25 January 2006 and its representatives were acquainted with the inspection report.

In addition to the above supplement, other three products of this company were examined; no banned substances were identified by laboratory tests: TRANS CGT (1800g, LOT: 050829), Creatine Monohydrate (500g, LOT: 050704), and Actions WHEYY GAINER Strawberry (1000g, LOT: 050714).
