Samples of fruits and vegetables taken in the surroundings of Lysá nad Labem don’t contain hazardous substances

In respect to ongoing discussion about possible soil and food contamination in Lysá nad Labem, CAFIA took several samples of fruits, vegetables and potatoes from surroundings of local incinerator.

Samples of early potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, peppers and apples came from private gardens.  As these farming products weren’t being placed on the market, inspectors were always taking the samples with the approval of the owner.

Analyses that were carried out by specialists of accredited laboratory of State Veterinary Institute in Jihlava, didn’t confirm presence of overlimited amount of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PCB) or chlorinated pesticides in any of the cases.
