Other useful information on the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority website

09/17/2004

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority began to place on its website information which would be appreciated mainly by food operators.

Since CAFIA experts registered an increased number of enquiries, mainly from winemakers, after the entry of new Wine Act into force (on 28 May 2004), new section called “Wine” was created on CAFIA website.

The operators can find there full updated wordings of legal regulations concerning the viticulture and viniculture, as well as whole range of useful information that should help them to be better versed in new regulations. The winemakers will find there an overview of all compulsory reports, notifications and statements, list of laboratories approved to perform analyses for wine classification, information about the Committee for wine evaluation and classification, recommendations how to obtain codes of bottlers and requirements for wine export and import. All necessary forms which can be downloaded are provided on this website and users can find there a wide range of useful advices about how to act in individual cases.

In the section “Information about the European Union – EC legislation” an overview of the European legislation concerning the food law and CAFIA activities, published in the Official Journal of the EU since the beginning of 2004 is at disposal. Legislation issued since 1 May 2004 is published in the Czech language, the rest is being translated.

Both sections can be found on www.szpi.gov.cz.
