Results of the regular inspection activity focused on the foodstuffs with KLASA and Regional Foodstuffs award confirmed their high quality and safety. They represent the least problematic food categories compared to other ones where inspectors detect up to one order higher proportions of non-compliant samples.
In 2017, CAFIA inspectors assessed the total of 173 foodstuffs with national quality award KLASA, out of which only 2 samples failed to comply with any of the assessed parameters – taste and labelling.
The inspectors further assessed 55 lots awarded by the Regional Foodstuff award. Only one sample failed to comply, namely as regards quality parameters.
Laboratory analysis did not confirm violation of safety requirements in any of the samples taken.
These foodstuffs have to comply not only with requirements laid down by national and European food legislation but also with requirements laid down by conditions for the use of the quality award. Namely, it is higher content of meat in meat products, stricter regulation as regards the use of sweeteners, colorants and further additives, higher demands on the food taste and consistency, etc.
CAFIA inspectors have already been checking foodstuffs with quality awards for 15 years and the results constantly confirm the highest quality of the evaluated products.
