Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) will for the first time demonstrate, in cooperation with the company Starobrno a.s., how its Information system for food inspection works. The CAFIA inspectors equiped with mobile offices will demonstrate, on the example of selected food manufacturing enterprise, an effective method in food inspection, sampling and laboratory analysis. This “CAFIA Information system – Control and laboratory activity” will have, in the near future, a sequence on a comprihensive Information system which is being constructed within the project PHARE which will interconnect supervisory authorities supervising food and feed materials in the Czech Republic.

CAFIA´s “Information system – Control and laboratory activity” is already functioning and has sequence on the whole range of other optimization measures. The inspection will inform about these measures at the International Food Fairs – Salima 2004.

During the press conference which is taking place on the 4th March, CAFIA´s managing director, Mr. Jakub Šebesta, will be giving information about how the inspection is prepared for changes in food inspection after the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union.

Because in the course of previous International Food Fairs CAFIA has noted a considerable interest of exhibitors and visitors of Food Fairs concerning the food law, consumer recommendations and consultations, the CAFIA experts will be entirely at disposal at

information stand, pavilion C, where they will answer the enquiries.
