Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) Warns of the Recurrence of Previously Recalled Nutrilon Infant Formula in Kaufland Stores

10/15/2026

Following additional information received through the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) carried out targeted inspections at three stores operated by Kaufland Česká republika v.o.s.

The inspections confirmed that certain Nutrilon infant formula products listed below, bearing the specified best-before dates (BBDs), had reappeared on the sales floors. These products had previously been recalled from the market in February 2026 due to suspicions of the presence of cereulide toxin. At the time of CAFIA's inspections on 14 October 2026, the products identified had already been segregated and blocked in the stores' back-of-house areas. According to the inspection findings, the retailer had removed them from the sales floors on 9 October 2026 through its own intervention.

According to a notification from Kaufland, the repeated recall concerns the following products and best-before dates:

  • Nutrilon Profutura Duobiotik 1, 800 g – BBDs: 10 March 2027, 13 May 2027 and 5 November 2027
  • Nutrilon Advanced 2, 800 g – BBDs: 16 September 2026, 21 November 2026 and 20 December 2026
  • Nutrilon Advanced 2, 1 kg – BBDs: 27 August 2026, 4 November 2026, 24 December 2026 and 18 February 2027

During its inspections, CAFIA specifically confirmed the recurrence of the following products at Kaufland stores:

  • Jablonec nad Nisou – 2 packs of Nutrilon Profutura Duobiotik 1, 800 g, BBD: 10 March 2027
  • Humpolec – 1 pack of Nutrilon Advanced 2, 800 g, BBD: 21 November 2026
  • Děčín – 1 pack of Nutrilon Advanced 2, 1 kg, BBD: 18 February 2027

CAFIA is currently investigating when and in what quantities the affected products were resupplied to individual stores following the original recall, and whether any units bearing the specified best-before dates reached final consumers.

As these products remained on the sales floors until their removal on 9 October 2026, it cannot be ruled out that some consumers purchased them during this period.

CAFIA advises consumers who have any of the above products bearing the specified best-before dates at home not to consume them. The products can be returned to any Kaufland store.

CAFIA is continuing its investigation and will inform the public of any further findings.
