Consumer warning: Salmonella in imported turkey breast cutlets

04/10/2026

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) warns consumers about the following non-compliant food product:

Turkey Breast Cutlets, brand Dobré MASO, portioned poultry meat, fresh, quality class A, pack size: 400 g, batch: 26051021, use-by date: 7 March 2026, manufacturer: INDROL Sp. z o.o. Sp.k., ul. Towarowa 4, 62–065 Grodzisk Wielkopolski, Poland, country of origin: Poland, distributor: Gornicky, s.r.o., Harantova 1359, 397 01 Písek, Czech Republic.

Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of Salmonella Agona bacteria in the specified batch, which are the causative agent of salmonellosis.

As the product has already passed its use-by date, it is no longer available on the market. However, CAFIA strongly recommends that any consumers who may still have the product stored at home in a frozen state do not consume it. Freezing has virtually no effect on bacterial contamination.

Inspectors collected a sample of the non-compliant batch at a Penny Market s.r.o. retail outlet, Neštěmická 825/6, 400 07 Ústí nad Labem – Krásné Březno.

CAFIA has submitted a notification to the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) to enable follow-up investigation in the country of origin.

CAFIA will initiate administrative proceedings with the inspected operator to impose a fine.
