The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected another case of adulterated meat product made by a Polish producer present on the Czech market. Foodstuff BEST Šunková Delikatesa HOVĚZÍ (beef ham), weight 120 g, BBD by 01 02 21, producer: Wielkopolskie Zakłady Mięsne "AGRICO" Spółka, 62-800 Kalisz Pawłówek 36, Poland was concerned.
The producer stated on the labelling that the product contained 31% of beef and 17% of pork, however, laboratory analysis found that the total content of meat was 38.5% only – thus by 10% less.
Inspectors sampled the product in question at the premises of Kaufland Česká republika v.o.s., Grmelova 2032/2, 70900, Ostrava-Mariánské Hory. Company Laska Dalboss s.r.o., Wichterlova 2, 372/10, 182 00, Prague then supplied the foodstuff to the inspected person.
CAFIA imposed a measure to remove and withdraw the foodstuff from all premises of the operator in the CR. The inspected person was also ordered to have performed laboratory analyses of further three consecutive supplies (of various lots) on his own expenses.
It is repeated case of adulteration of meat products detected in retail network in recent months. The Food Inspection Authority will therefore pay attention to inspections of such commodity with the same intensity.
CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
