CAFIA cooperation with people suffering from celiac disease increased effectiveness of non celiac foodstuffs

CAFIA established cooperation with organizations joining people suffering from celiac disease which are dependent on non celiac food. At the beginning of the year a vast control of these products, which can be found on the Czech market, was launched. During processing the control methodology CAFIA used this information directly from the most corresponding people – celiacs. CAFIA  proceeded information and inputs from the Czech Celiacs Association and Celiac Club in Brno for predicting of food which is planned for the control activities and laboratory analyses.

Nowadays the first period of control has been finished. All samples which have been evaluated complied with legislative requirements – they were  harmless to the health, they had a relevant quality and a proper labeling. This kind of food is liable to regulations for foodstuff for special nutrition which means the Ministry of Health agreement with putting into circulation. All products received this “agreement”. An important part of the control was also monitoring of real celiac content in the samples and information of health risks given on the label.

This period will be followed-up by another two ones so that CAFIA can map most celiac trade during this year. CAFIA will directly inform Celiac Association and in the same time will announce complete list of checked foodstuffs on its websites.
